BANJARESE (How to sound like a native Banjarese?)
Banjarese (Banjar: Bahasa/Basa Banjar, Indonesian: Bahasa Banjar, Jawi: بهاس بنجر) is an Austronesian language spoken by the Banjar people.
Banjar Language is formed from Dayak, Malay, Javanese and native Banjarese vocabulary. Dayak, Malay, and Javanese vocabularies shape the Banjar language by means of innovation and borrowing. Meanwhile, the original vocabulary of the Banjarese language is formed by means of the conventions of the Banjar language-speaking community who experience diglossia
The arrangement of how to form sentences in Banjarese is not much different from Indonesian, namely using the SPO pattern (Subject + Predicate + Object) and adverbs of time.
Subjects in Banjarese are: ULUN (I), PIAN (you), KITA (us), BUBUHANNYA (they), and SIDIN ( male/female).
The Banjar language is divided into two major dialects, namely the Banjarese dialect and the Banjarese dialect Kuala (BBK) and Banjar Hulu (BBH) dialects. BBK dialect in general used by natives around the cities of Banjarmasin, Martapura, Pelaihari, and Kotabaru, while the BBH dialect is generally used by residents in the area upstream rivers in general, namely areas such as, Tapin, Hulu Sungai Utara, etc.
Most of what I write here comes from the BBH dialect, mixed with everyday language which is certainly not too thick in banjar language, sometimes here we use it like slang words of banjares
